Early Fall 2008
The Cowgirl Yoga™ Lifestyle
Our newsletters are seasonal!

We've realized that Cowgirl Yoga is not just a retreat - it's a lifestyle. And we're excited to share that we are expanding our CY theme, not just in our retreat offerings, but as the lifestyle we strive to embody here under Montana's Big Sky. You don't necessarily have to live out west to have a cowgirl attitude, and in fact we think it particularly helps you city girls (and I know this to be true, since I was one) to come visit us and take back home a little bit of yeehaw.

The Cowgirl Yoga lifestyle has truly been inspired by all the women who have joined us on retreat this year. First of all, they took the risk to come to Montana (as opposed to, oh say, the Caribbean) and take time out from their busy lives for some self-nurturing; they reveled in what the Big Sky had to offer them, even if it was tons of snow on our "spring" yoga and hiking retreats (which became yoga & snowshoeing!); they let their yoga practice speak to them, when given the opportunity to grow it outside of the fabric of their daily lives; they shared their spirits, and last but not least, they all simply possessed a yeehaw attitude. You can, we discovered, say "yeehaw" and "namaste" together. And lucky me, I got to witness the transformations that took place. When people gather together with a positive intention, it is such a rare opportunity to witness the potential we all have. I feel grateful that we have been able to assist with tapping into that; there have even been two women from retreats earlier this year that have now moved to Montana! I'd like to think we had something to do with that.

We've observed and experienced firsthand that the powerful combination of yoga and being in nature puts us back in touch with lost parts of ourselves. Inviting positive change into our lives becomes easy when the catalyst is the solace and inspiration found through yoga and time outdoors.

I'd like to invite you to check out my Cowgirl Yoga blog - Montana musings on life under the Big Sky, motherhood, food, horses, and last but not least, yoga. I'd love to hear your comments too. And if you haven't joined us on retreat yet, I invite you to come experience the Cowgirl Yoga lifestyle with us this fall.

Fall has always felt like another shot at freshening up those long-forgotten new year's resolutions; something about the crisp air, the seasonal shifts that invites change and renewal. It's a great time to join us for our yoga and hiking retreats.

Next up is our Eat, Pray, Love Yoga retreat, a yoga and hiking weekend for women September 5-7. We'll incorporate discussion, reflection, intention-setting and meditation based on themes in the book - and of course sharing our favorite parts!

September 26-28 is another yoga and hiking weekend, and we're offering a week-long yoga and hiking October 5-10. All retreats will be at the Big EZ Lodge in Big Sky, and we'll be hitting some of the most stunning trails the West has to offer. Grab your hiking boots and your yoga mat and join us!

And just a preview of our 2009 retreats...we've got lots of exciting new things in the works for next year, including:

Stay tuned for exact dates coming soon.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, and hope to see you out here soon.

Yeehaw and Namaste,
Margaret
