CREATE LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT...
BECAUSE IT DOES!
If you are like me, I am never satisfied with my current level of seeing and photographing. We can always learn and in order to grow, we need to pursue creative thought, train our bodies and our minds to stay in shape. The photo side of this retreat will explore and revisit sound basics in camera technique and lighting, as well as teach methods for exercising your creative nature. Join us for a merged exploration of yoga and photography. - Larry Stanley
Larry will be speaking about the following topics with demonstration, practice and insightful photo assignments:
This retreat is for all levels of photographers. You will need DSLR or better, with manual control of focus, aperture and shutter speed, and need to know basic camera use. You will also need a laptop to process your images for commentary and evaluation during class, or else a really good friend that is willing to share. You’ll need a USB memory stick to transfer images for sharing.
Larry Stanley and Margaret Burns Vap have been working together for years, and Big Sky Yoga Retreats is grateful to Larry for capturing the spirit of what we do in his pictures. When you love what you do, you want to share it in as many ways as possible, and so the yoga and photography collaboration was added to our retreat menu.
Please note that this retreat is based in Clyde Park, Montana, which was named for the Clydesdale horses raised there in the late 19th century. It is approximately 20 minutes north of Livingston, and one hour from Bozeman.
You will need to rent a car for this retreat, or we can put you in touch with your roommate/other retreaters to possibly rent together. We highly recommend adding on a day or two in either Bozeman or Livingston, and are happy to make suggestions based on your interests and travel plans. Both places make great starting points for visiting Yellowstone National Park, a frequest add-on for our retreaters.
Bozeman is sophisticated Western chic meets college town. Great shopping, dining, and some of the best hiking trails in SW Montana. Ask us for suggestions!
Livingston is caught between very cowboy and very hip. Tons o' cute shops and restaurants, and celebrity sightings are common. They call its location "Paradise Valley" for a reason. A visit to nearby Chico Hot Springs is a must, and our retreaters love staying at the Murray Hotel.
